The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Indianapolis Chapter, Inc. (NCBW), is a non-profit advocacy and volunteer organization focusing its energies and resources in the areas of the African-American Female and Black family; Career Advancement; and Political and Economic empowerment. Through these foci we identify opportunities for health and cultural awareness, community service, fundraising, educational enrichment, leadership development, and career networking. Strategically, the NCBW aims to develop and deploy a variety of services specifically tailored to support the African American woman at key stages of her life and enable her to participate fully in the opportunities, benefits, and rewards of American society.

Through our signature project, the NCBW Academy-For-Girls, we foster academic excellence, leadership development, and community building.

The Academy For Girls (AFG) was established in October 1994 in response to local needs to make a positive, indisputable difference in the lives of our young African American females; with our local strategy to aid young women of color to reach their highest potential.

Our Vision – drives positive meaningful change to benefit young African American females in overcoming stereotypes; exploring non-traditional jobs; identifying a wide range of opportunities for academic and skills-based training; facilitating their personal and professional development through mentoring and exposure.

Our Mission – To develop, initiate and implement action plans and programs/projects designed to provide a bridge of stability and motivation for participating girls and their parents.

Our Program – The school year program and activities are delivered in partnership with youth-providing organizations, public schools, students, parents, educators, local businesses, and numerous community organizations.  Our current key partners for service delivery include Arlington High School, Hoosier Capital Girl Scout Council-Studio 2B programming; and our membership.
